A few months ago, Chick-fil-a asked us to join forces with Outer Grace Boutique/Ava's Kids Boutique, SON-sational Accessories, and the wonderful Chick-fil-a (Greenwood) team to present a Mommy and Me Tea and Fashion Show. Since we are no strangers to fashion shows (our Fifth Annual Fashion Show will be later this year), we jumped at the opportunity to work with such great organizations. So, on Saturday, May 26, we spent the afternoon full of tea, chicken, and fashion. What more could you ask for? Thanks, Paul Mitchell School! The day began with a little bit of pampering from Paul Mitchell School. We would like to thank the ladies from Paul Mitchell for doing such an excellent job and helping to make our models look extra-fabulous for the shows. That's right. Shows. The boys and girls (and a few mommas) who walked the runway as models participated in three different shows. And they were troopers throughout the whole experience! Jewelry for a Cause Guests also had the opportunity to purchase fun jewelry and other accessories at affordable prices from SON-sational Accessories. Speaking of Fashion Shows... As mentioned earlier, we're no strangers to fashion shows. And we're beyond excited to be able to make two big announcements in regards to this year's Fashion Show and Silent Auction! Our First Big Announcement: You might remember that we added gentlemen to our lineup of models for the first time last year. It was a raging success! Our guys loved being part of the show. So this year, we've made another addition. Children will be participating as models this year, too! When you come to our Fashion Show in the Fall, you just might see a few familiar faces from this post. Our Second Big Announcement: We have set a date! Go ahead and mark your calendars for Saturday, October 27! A big Thank you, Chick-fil-a!
We would like to thank Chick-fil-a (on 135 in Greenwood) for putting together such a great event and allowing us to be a part of such a great day! Our models give you a big Moose Salute! We celebrated this milestone event with a dinner and awards banquet on Friday April 27th at Compass Park Event Center in Franklin. Over 120 friends joined us at this new venue—and the feedback about the food and location has been overwhelmingly positive! The highlight of the evening was the awards celebration honoring the 2017 achievements of clients, friends and staff of Gateway. In a nod to our mission statement, the first awards of the evening were given to those whose efforts mirrored our Mission Statement. A Future Without Limits—Kalie Pitman Build Community—IndyTeleData Create Opportunity—Rachel Smith Expect Success—Marshalls Change Lives—Mount Pleasant Christian Church Outstanding Individual achievement winners included Nate Irskins, Lindsey Wilson, Carter Borders and Andrew Pierce. Other winners included Employer of the Year Rick Gillam, Access Johnson County Passenger of the Year Jamie Lucas, Our Super Hero 2017 winner Southside Toys and More, Advocacy Award winner Meghan Strole, Leadership Award winner Lance McMurray, and We Are Family award winner Kevin Aders. A favorite part of the evening was the Client Long Haul Awards. These awards are given to those we serve who have gotten their first job ever (three people!) or are celebrating another year of being employed (sixty two people!). From one year to thirty one years—the joy and excitement on their faces as the received their certificates reminds us why we love what we do! Congratulations to our Long Haul Winners! And finally a big heartfelt to all our employees for making our Mission a reality every day!
