All our vehicles are wheel chair accessible. ACCESS provides the reservations, scheduling, and operation of this services. Drivers are thoroughly trained in safety and passenger assistance.
The Transportation Access Committee (TAC), a group of local volunteers, assists with financial planning and policies regarding operation of ACCESS. The purpose of the TAC is to determine, plan for, maintain and evaluate the necessary resources for the transportation needs of all Johnson County residents. All meetings are open to the public. Access Johnson County trying to follow the guidance from the CDC and in support of the strategy to slow the spread of the virus. Our fixed and Flexible fixed route services will start operating normally on June 15, with the exception of US 31 which will be operating every hour. This could change depending on the Back on Track Indiana plan.
STARTING June 15 our office hours will be from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm.
ADA Paratransit Certification Process Anyone who needs a deviation or special accommodations and is not able to ride the fixed routes will need to apply for ADA Paratransit Certification. The Americans with Disability Act, requires that we have a certification process to ensure people with disabilities are not discriminated against and have the same opportunity that the general public have accessing public transit. Office hours will change to 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. Phones will be turned off from 12:00 – 12:30 calls received before noon will be submitted for the next day.
