We had lots of help at our Lemon Squeeze last Thursday, July 12. We squeezed 76 cases for a total of 145 gallons of lemon juice. We had over 50 volunteers from 7:00 - 2:45. The first case was washed and cut by 7:14 am and the first lemon was squeezed at 7:15 by our very own Jennifer M. The last lemon was squeezed at 1:15 pm. We had approximately 10 people stay and help clean up the sticky and lemony smelling basement at First Christian Church in Bargersville. We would like to thank you all that helped in anyway in making this event a complete success. Saturday, July 14 drivers loaded the lemon stand on two trucks, two trailers and a mini van with all the supplies to get us started. These fine drivers had the stand all set up by 10:30. That is a record. I think we are a well oiled machine at this point. Thank you to all the staff that helped load the vehicles and to Gerald, Ron, Joe, Rob, Roger, Mike O, and Bill H for setting it all up at the Fair Grounds. We are half way through the fair now. We have a few fun facts to share. Fun Fact: Wednesday July 18 was the 2nd best day we have had in 10 years at the Johnson County Fair. Last year on Sunday was the 1st best day at the fair in 9 years. Fun Fact: Very unusual Summer Day in Indiana -The weather was a perfect day with no rain only sunshine and hardly any humidity. Fun Fact: A BIG SHOUT OUT to the Daily Journal we would never have been able to get the word out if it hadn't been for you folks. We have had some awesome volunteers that have stepped up answered the call for action. Fun Fact: A1 Bail Bonds and PFM Car & Truck Care were our Stand and Cup Sponsors this year and Gateway's new logo were on these cups as well. THANK YOU Melia (A1 Bail Bonds) and John (PFM) !
